There may be extra features and ‘add-on’ packs which the owner from new invested in at the purchase stage, which are now included in the overall price – so you could end up with a higher spec vehicle than you might otherwise expect to get for the sum you are paying. Actually, whether you opt for a pre-owned campervan or decide you would rather have one from new, there is one overriding thing which makes it a glorious purchase. That is the sense of freedom it will provide you with. The option to go on holiday at literally an hour or two’s notice is such an appealing aspect to an on-the-road life. Imagine arriving home from work on a Friday evening and being able to get out on the road within an hour or so. You could escape suburbia and wake up in some country beauty spot a couple of hundred miles away the next morning!

2. Regular Breaks

Spending some of your hard-earned money on a motorhome or campervan also means that you will pay more attention to the opportunities it brings. Plus, if a time comes when you feel the life is not for you and the vehicle is no longer required, it’s likely to have retained a decent proportion of its value for resale.

There’s just something about life on the road which offers extra value to the memories you’ll make. Not just in the times you are actually physically on holiday, either. There are various websites and forums on the internet where you can interact with the same demographic (VW conversion owners, for instance) and share stories and experiences. There may even be regular ‘meet ups’ in your area which you could get involved in. When you are out on the road on breaks and holidays, too, you’ll find that other drivers or holidays parties are friendly. It’s a great world to be part of!
