Of course we can! If you purchase your motorhome or caravan from a branch which is not the most local to you do not worry our service departments have access to the records and are able to look after you. Some of our franchises are solus to certain sites, therefore the process may be a little bit longer for warranty claims, however we can process this for you to make sure you are not making any unnecessary travelling!
A habitation or caravan service is a vital check to have done and this would be required on an annual basis. All warranty providers and manufacturers would have this a requirement to ensure the warranty is void. The service is not only there to tick the box for these providers, it is a important safety check. The service will ensure the gas and electrical systems are all safe to use. The technician will also undertake a full water ingress report to ensure the construction of your caravan, motorhome or campervan is not going to deteriorate from any leaks from seals or fittings.
At Spinney, we have teams at each branch who are highly trained in habitation and caravan servicing. Whether your caravan is bought from us or not, we are here to help.
We would recommend that within the first 12 months of ownership you would be best placed to return your motorhome or caravan back to your selling dealership. They will have all the delivery and Pre Check information available to undertake the warranty claim as efficiently as possible. After the first twelve months of ownership we can then undertake your first year service and will oversee any warranty work required.
On average these services take between three and four hours, the service is an in-depth snapshot of the current condition of your motorhome. Checking important areas such as gas safety and water ingress report. The length of the service can depend on the amount and complexity of the appliances.
The length of a caravan service can depend on whether it is a single axle or twin axle. The service will take between 3.5 and 4 hours, within this time the wheels are removed and brakes fully checked.
We are very proud of the standards our service departments set, this is down to the high level of technical expertise we have across all branches. Within all of our branches our team are both manufacturer trained and approved whilst also having full SGTW (Gas) certification.
This can depend greatly on the time of the year. The leisure industry is considerably busier between March and September than over the winter months. Lead times can vary however in the summer we would expect around a four week lead time to book a service. We suggest the earlier you make a booking for an annual service will allow you to have your choice of dates and times.
First of all, do not worry water ingress is something that can always be fixed! First thing to do is to book in to have a full water ingress report. We have calibrated moisture protometers which will give an accurate result of any water ingress, it is important that this is undertaken by the correct type of meter to ensure the results are accurate and not simply picking up false results form areas such as metal joining brackets. The report will tell you the percentage readings of moisture around your van. Should there be areas of concern, our team will be able to help.
