About Spinney Motorhomes
Biggest & best in the North West
Spinney Motorcaravans was established in 1975 by the late Managing Director, Nick Holland Senior, originally situated on the A537 Knutsford to Macclesfield Road at Ollerton, until moving to our present location at Holmes Chapel on the A50 in 1996.
Motorhomes were a rarity in 1975...but we quickly grew.
The first motorhome sold by Nick Holland was a Commer Automatic Jennings Roadranger. He enjoyed preparing and selling the motorhome that much he decided to purchase a few more…..and more. In 1986 Autohomes offered Spinney the chance to sell their product this was then followed shortly by Auto-Sleepers in 1989.
Spinney Motorhomes required further land to re-develop to meet the fast growing demand for Motorhomes. In 1992, Anthony Trevellyan, then C.E.O of Autosleepers opened our new showroom. Spinney grew steadily over the following years adding Swift, Elddis, Auto-Trail, Auto-cruise, Bailey, Tribute and Holdsworth to our list of franchises.
Before long we had outgrown our premises and were lucky enough to find our new site in Cranage, near Holmes Chapel which was the ideal size and location to take Spinney further to reach our goal of being the premier motorhome dealership in the North West.
The growth did not stop there! Spinney took their simple philosophy of ‘service sells’ and this fast tracked us to being one of the premier dealers in the UK.
Spinney have built a reputation based on family values and excellent service.
During this time, the staff played a vital part in building our reputation as a family company that offers a good service at competitive prices. Joining Spinney in 1978, Andrew Cooper, our Sales Manager, has been an integral part of the team. Richard Smith our Seniors Sales Executive and Nick Palmer who both joined in 1995 are both still part of the team today. It has been said that what these three don't know about motorhomes and caravans is really not worth knowing!
The family element of the company has grown steadily with the three sons Nick, Charlie and Ben joining the business to take the company to the next level. Ensuring the family philosophy of ‘service sells’ continues to be applied to the daily running of the business.
